Abacus needed to start using current technology in their business. Multiple
vendors and frequent changes in technology had led to a complex and unmanageable

into every aspect. Abacus Distribution systems (India) a part of Abacus -Asia's leading CRS
(Computer Reservation Company) was in the process of expanding and deploying new

on various platforms – Linux – to handle mail, Windows NT for legacy leased line
connectivity, and Windows 2000 as a file server. Since they were non conversant
with the technological infrastructure in India, they engaged resources from

After their operations had started the Sales team needed real time data in the
field. The reports they had to fill up, was decreasing their efficiency. Double
data entry at the clients place and back in the office was taking up most of

Matrix3D has helped Abacus deploy a back office Network in all offices
across India. We have also been instrumental in helping them set up cheaper and
cost effective link using VPN and Internet connectivity to transfer DATA between
their main offices. All the mission critical mail and data servers across all
offices run on servers which have been designed and configured by Matrix3D.
Due to our expertise in Exchange solutions, using the power of the Microsoft
Exchange, Matrix3D designed a solution for the sales team using a combination of
Outlook and Exchange. The sales team used outlook to fill in their regular sales
form that were then stored in the Exchange database. Reporting then used to
Exchange database to mine information. Taking this one step further we designed
a palm based application that connected to Microsoft exchange thereby allowing
the sales team to fill in their forms only once at their clients place and then
allowing them to hot sync their forms with Exchange when they came to the
office.

office, this included setting up their file servers, mail servers, print servers
