Dedicated Link (Leased Line)
Conventional Connectivity over large distances have been using point to point link. This is known as a Dedicated Network. The Dedicated Network connects two or multiple points through a direct cable. The local telecom service provider in India grants you a lease for this dedicated line, hence it is popularly known in India as Leased Line.

For short distances and where bandwidth requirements are high, this is the best type of connectivity. Leased Network guarantees total security and private connection. It has been prevalent since a long time and still assures one of the best unrestricted bandwidth.

An Adaptation of this is the MLDN (Managed Leased Data Network) used in the Indian sub-continent and other places. It is more economical solution and allows far greater flexibility than conventional networks.
